Freestone Medical’s Suregery department boasts the latest state of the art Stryker laparoscopic surgical system purchased in 2020.  This is the exact same minimally invasive laparoscopic system used in larger hospitals so you now have access to the best equipment available today.

Our surgeon, Dr. John Bawduniak, sees patients and performs procedures on Wednesdays. He provides a range of laparoscopic surgical procedures including, but not limited to:

  • Gallbladder
  • Hernia
  • Breast biopsy
  • Skin lesion excisions
  • Endoscopy
  • Colonoscopy

Dr. David Allen, DPM, also performs podiatric procedures when required after  clinic consultation.

Post-op visits are scheduled after your procedure and with your physician so that he can monitor the healing process.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

No. After your procedure, our staff will schedule your follow up based on what your doctor recommends.

We only see patients based on referrals from your surgeon or treating physician.

The cost of your procedure depends largely on your insurance coverage and the nature of the procedure itself (anesthesia, imaging equipment, etc.). It’s also impacted by co-pays, deductibles, and so forth. We will make sure that your procedure is approved before your procedure and we may even be able to make some estimates as to what your responsibility will be based on our experience with your coverage and your plan.

Your doctor will let us know what services you need and we’ll get you scheduled while the doctor who is skilled in your surgical needs is here. You will be given some pre-op instructions depending upon your procedure.

The day you arrive, we will make sure you’re comfortable both before and after your surgery. Because many of these procedures require anesthesia, we will let you know before you arrive if you need to arrange for transportation to and from the hospital.

You’ll come to our clinic within the hospital at your scheduled time and see him right here in Fairfield.

Outpatient or "day surgery" is normally a surgical procedure in which the patient is discharged home the same day, assuming there are no unforeseen complications.  Your surgeon and you will discuss this option prior to the procedure being scheduled and whether or not he feels you are a candidate for outpatient or day surgery.

Our patients have their procedures and go home the same day. You are not admitted to the hospital as an inpatient (which generally means you won’t have an overnight stay and will be here for a few hours).

The surgery team provides a safe and comfortable environment for all patients by following all standards and practices set forth by the State of Texas and Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) to ensure that all patients get the best care possible.
